Check out “Devils Hearts Grow Gold” by La Sera. Love them, love this song, love this vibe…dig itt.

A long-time obsession, Tennis has been back in my musical repertoire as of late. Partially because every song on the album is dripping with summer sun, and partially because Cape Dory was practically the soundtrack to my Summer ‘10 and great memories are associated with it. Anyway, check out “Marathon”

Handsome Furs - “Repatriated”

Some married couples fight over the television remote control. Other couples create synth-heavy gems that make plebeians like me wonder why the hell I haven’t invested in a synthesizer and lessons yet.

Sound Kapital makes Handsome Furs more than just a Wolf Parade side-project. By toning down the guitars and upping the synth, electro-pop factor, Handsome Furs has further established that they are a fresh force to be reckoned with in Canada and beyond.

I’m actually uncontrollably excited to see Larry and His Flask perform at Warped Tour tomorrow in Charlotte. Dig on this live street corner rendition of “I’ll Be Gone”. Damn. That passion.

TODAY IS MY TWENTY FIRST BIRTHDAY!

I’m 21 :P

I can’t wait to see BAYSIDE tomorrow night! This was one of the first songs of theirs that I fell in love with, mostly because of the s-p-e-l-l-i-n-g. But srsly, Bayside consistently makes hella catchy songs. Check it - “Moceanu”

This song rules. King Charles is the man. Dig it - “Mr. Flick”

Portugal. The Man dropped their new album today! “In the Mountain In the Cloud” is one of their best albums yet, and you can read my review of it at Mind Equals Blown here. This is one of my favorite tracks from the new album, titled “Everything You See”. Dig ittttt.

Beirut - “The Rip Tide”
So aptly named…

NO SHAME. Tonight… at midnight… a monumentally historic event will take place and swiftly put an end to an era held near and dear to my heart, and I’m sure many others’ as well: I will be attending my final midnight showing of a Harry Potter film, and the end of the most beloved franchise in my world comes to an end. No more books, no more movies… At least I’ll be able to hold onto theExhibition which I’ve already seen in Chicago and NYC, and the Park at IOA in my hometown, which I still haven’t visited (hopefully for my birthday in a couple weeks!)

Until then, thank you, Harry. Thank you, J.K. Thank you, Warner Brothers. This has been a very, very magical journey.

Today’s song: “Hedwig’s Theme” from the Harry Potter soundtracks. (This specific version is from the Sorcerer’s Stone) Find it on iTunes or Amazon.

SEEING IT AT 12:01 EEK.

The Cool Kids’ new album, When Fish Ride Bicycles, just dropped and the Kids are doin’ it up right as usual. Enjoy this early taste featuring Asher Roth and Chip Tha Ripper - “Roll Call”.

Dear Ms Morrison, JULY 11, 2011

I feel compelled to respond to your recent blog post, regarding comments I “allegedly” made outside the BAFTA dinner on Saturday night. I never spoke to you at this event; in fact, you weren’t even there. I am completely and utterly shocked that a…
